The National FFA Organization is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of young people by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. 

FFA Advisor

Joseph Nesbit, Agriculture

Joseph Nesbit serves as the Agriculture Education Teacher and FFA Advisor for Greene County High School. He received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Agriculture Education from Fort Valley State University. 
Mr. Nesbit is a native of Greene County and is anxious to give back to the community and local school system.  Mr. Nesbit currently teaches Basic Agricultural Science and Technology, Plant Science and Horticulture, Animal Science and Biotechnology and Agricultural Mechanics I and II.

As GCHS FFA Advisor, his students are anxious to participate at the area, state and national levels of the FFA competitive events. Nesbit trains students to participate in a variety of Career Development Events, gaining technical training in agricultural careers.

  • The FFA Creed
    The creed was written by E. M. Tiffany, and adopted at the 3rd National Convention of the FFA.  It was revised at the 38th Convention and the 63rd Convention.
  • What do the letters "FFA" stand for?
    The letters "FFA" stand for Future Farmers of America; however, in 1988 the official name of the organization was changed to "The National FFA Organization" to reflect the growing diversity of agriculture.


The mission of Greene County High School is to provide all students with a quality education that supports success in an ever-changing world.
